After years of anticipation, Studio 4°C (Berserk) is bringing its highly awaited anime adaptation of All You Need Is Kill to U.S. theaters, thanks to distributor GKIDS.
🌍 Where Can You Watch It?
The film will be screened in the U.S., UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, though an exact release date is still TBA. It premieres this week at the Annecy Animation Festival in France during the Midnight Specials section.
📖 Not Just Edge of Tomorrow
While Edge of Tomorrow (2014) loosely adapted Hiroshi Sakurazaka's novel, this anime version stays true to the original story. Expect less Hollywood, more heart—and a lot more blood.
💥 What’s It About?
All You Need Is Kill follows Rita, a young woman caught in a brutal alien war after the emergence of a parasitic alien flower. Every time she dies, she wakes up again—trapped in a deadly time loop. Think Groundhog Day, but with mech suits and monsters.
🎙️ Director Speaks Out
Director Kenichiro Akimoto, making his debut, said:
“Even in the endless loop of life, we can still grow depending on how we perceive the situation.”
Anime fans can expect mind-bending visuals, high-stakes action, and emotional storytelling when the movie hits cinemas worldwide later this year.
