Ghibli Park is bringing summer festival magic with a fun twist this July. Instead of catching goldfish, fans can scoop adorable Ponyo-themed rubber balls at a new game booth inside Dondoko Forest, the home of Mei and Satsuki’s house from My Neighbor Totoro.

Inspired by the traditional Japanese game kingyo sukui, the event lets you catch collectible super balls featuring Ponyo figures or artwork, offering a Ghibli-style version of this classic festival challenge.

The booth runs from July 19 to August 31, and August visitors will get extra perks, including a screening of the Ghibli short film The Whale Hunt, kinako-making workshops, and limited chances to explore the park after dark.

🎟️ Game plays cost 500 yen. Great fun, no goldfish stress—just memories and keepsakes.
